Daily DeviationGiven 2009-08-17Terra child by *shideh is a beautiful work from an artist who has no DD before. I simply love flawless texture in this artwork, somehow it reminds me about great oil painting and the expression of character is just wow! Critiques
The detail placed in each of the subjects is amazing. The fox's fur just looks fluffy and soft to the touch while you can almost imagine the majestic flapping of the bird's wings. The young woman's hair flows gently around the scene and her deep eyes almost penetrate the thoughts of the viewer. The details of her face are realistically shown on the image and the almost sorrowful look on her face is still wonderful to look.
Color usage also has an amazing supporting role here. Each of the colors used in this piece look so freshly brushed that you can almost see them being made upon its canvas. The background lighting just illuminates the beauty of the piece itself and properly compliments each individual subject in the image.
In the end, its the little things in this piece that truly matter. The minuscule details shown in each subject, the wonderful use of colors and even the style of art itself is what truly make this a work of art. Even as I write this critique, I keep finding myself stopping to gaze upon the image yet again as if I'm compelled to do so. *shideh has never seemed to slack on artistic skill and this piece is no exception to that rule. Congratulations on the DD, and here's to many more beautiful pieces of art.
